From 1 to 3 June 2026, Dr. Ridha Ennetta, a professor at the Higher Institute of Industrial Systems of Gabès (ISSIG), represented the CobotsVETMed Erasmus+ project at the ICRA Satellite School 2026, organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Tunisia Chapter in Hammamet, Tunisia.
As part of the programme, Prof. Ennetta contributed to the panel discussion Robotics in Tunisia, presenting the CobotsVETMed project and exploring the role of collaborative robots (cobots) in vocational education and workforce development. The discussion highlighted how CobotsVETMed will equip students and trainers in Tunisia and Algeria with Industry 4.0 skills, while supporting the integration of advanced robotics technologies into vocational training programmes. Dr. Brahim Metoui further highlighted the project's objectives, achievements, and expected impact in the years ahead. Prof. Dr. Friederike Eyssel's lecture, Navigating Interdisciplinary Research Spaces, explored interdisciplinary collaboration and the human dimensions of robotics research. The technical session, Setup, Control & Commissioning, offered practical insight into the deployment and operation of collaborative robots. The event connected the project with national and international stakeholders, strengthening CobotsVETMed's visibility within the robotics community and opening avenues for future collaboration.
